Taxpayers are incurring huge losses due to delayed construction of a section of the Standard Gauge Railway which was temporarily suspended by the court, Court of Appeal in Mombasa heard Thursday.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has said Kenya will stop its contribution to the South Sudan peace mission following the sacking of Lt-Gen Johnson Ondieki as commander of the UN Mission in South Sudan (Unmiss) in the war-torn nation.

At least 110 migrants are feared drowned after they were forced at gunpoint to set sail from Libya, while many more may have died in a separate shipwreck, survivors said Thursday.
